  1. I think there is one Rays fan I can think of & it's Luke but there may be 2 others

  2. I'm sure the majority of Rays fans here are bandwagoners.  I know that I saw maybe two or three fans the last two seasons and now all of a sudden there's at least ten I can name.

But hey. That's what happens when a team starts winning.  Watch, next year by this time the Rangers will be poised to win it all and half of Y!A will be a Rangers fan.  Jk, lol.  But that'd be nice, wouldn't it?  (The winning, not the bandwagoners)

  3. There are probably quite a few.

At the same time, I think there are going to be a few bandwagon fans who will stay when the team dies off. Most of them will find the next winner, but there are always those fans who become die-hards.

Of course, we won't know this until the Rays start losing again. Guess we'll have to wait and see who stays and who goes.

  4. Probably the reason you didn't see them talking up their team is because when your team doesn't do well there's nothing to talk about.  Go forbid you open your mouth to say something positive about a bad team, especially one in the A.L. East. Next thing you know you'll be slapped down by a Yankees fan bragging about 26 world championships.

  5. Probably all of them considering they continue to lose and who seriously wants to be a fan of a team that loses every year for the past ten years.

  6. I think there is an overall problem with the definition of a bandwagon fan.  I think to identify one, you have to see the entire cycle.  You have to see them love the team while winning and then see them abandon them when not.

I don't live in the Tampa area.  I don't live in the same country that Tampa occupies.  However, one of the first groups I joined when going on facebook was the Devil Rays.

Now, how does someone in Canada, appreciate the Devil Rays.

Simple, I see them play against Toronto and I play A LOT of fantasy baseball.

One league I'm in is an auction keeper league and as most fantasy players will attest, there is nothing like picking up a good Devil Ray for batting. (Crazy if you do it for pitching, with the exception of this year)

So, BJ upton, drafted him before his first major league at bat.  Rocco Baldelli, drafted him in his first full year.  Carl Crawford, traded the Cy Young runner up (Esteban Loazia at $1) for him in year 1.  Delmon Young, drafted him 3 years before his first big league at bat.

Out of our prospect draft, out of 17 players selected this year, 6 were Rays.

If you play Fantasy in any sort of challenging way, you are familiar with the Rays.

But, as another answerer said, what type of questions were being asked a year ago where the Rays were the answer to show people they had fans???

  7. 90% of them. Nothing wrong with a band wagoner, who wants to see their team loose 100 + games a year

  8. Probably all of them. I'm NOT a Rays fan, but they have been doing good.

  9. everyone except the college basketball anaylisis

  10. Its just like patriot fans and new york giants fans nobody liked them and now everyones like oh yeah I've been a fan forever.

I don't like the Yankees much but as a cowboy fan i know that our teams have the most loyal fan bases in almost all of sports.

And yes I've been a cowboys fan since i can remember.

  11. I'm sure that 99% of Rays fans are bandwagoners. Everybody loves a winner.

  12. i will rout for them because i hate red sox and yankees

  13. I saw only  2 REAL! Rays fans here last year.  Now we have these phonies everywhere coming out of the woodwork claiming they loved them all along they where fans of their for years the whole bit. Where where they last year? To me they are not real fans. I respect the REAL! ones who where here last year & to them i congratulate & give their team credit.

Yankee Fan for 30 years & a Giants fan for 27 years.

  14. I am not a Rays fan but am first to admit they have one of the best teams in the league and will be hard to beat in the post-season. That's all I got on that!

  15. alot of them r. im sure some where around 85-90%... im a i giants fan and have been since i can remember bt about 3 or 4 yrs ago i said i was taking the rays as my al team. just becuz i saw wt they had and said in a few yrs they will be one of the best in baseball and i was rite, although i didnt think itd be this huge of a jump.
