I got this vocab builder with 1850 SAT words, would that be enough?

Also, is the PSAT harder than the SAT?

Thanks in advance =)

  2. That's a good list of words. My suggestion would be not just to memorize them but also to incorporate them into you're writing and maybe even occassionally use them in everyday language. Because just memorizing them might not really help considering in a timed test will you be able to recall one word out of the 1850 you've learned. The best way is to use them in essays (If you're in english you'll have plenty of essays to write). Also if you text message or something it sounds nerdy but if you become National Merit you can get a literal free ride to some colleges and of course a big plus for applications to ivy league.

the PSAT is easier than the SAT just because the PSAT is designed for Juniors in high school (that's when you're PSAT test will count towards becoming a National Merit Semifinalist. Also more than anything do lots and lots of practice the more you become accustomed to the types of questions they can throw at you the easier the test will be.

Also learn the roots and you can find a list of roots in any review book. So if you run across a word you will be able to still have an inkling of what it is. Like Heliocentric. Maybe you never saw that word but helio means sun and centric means center. Sun-centered. (Basically describes the solar system everything revolves around the Sun). Or Geocentric. (Earth-centered like the moon).

Focus and remain dedicated to you're desire to improve and get rewarded for you're hard work.

  3. The PSAT is supposed to be easier.  In reality, it is completely unrelated to the SAT, and doesn't do ****.

Take a normal SAT and see where you score.  You can probably tell what areas you have trouble in.

Just read normal books and look up any words you don't know.  When you get to the SATs, guess based on the meaning of the latin root words.

  4. Daaaaaaaaaaaaaang....  I didn't know there were that many words....  That should totally help.  The vocab isn't that hard, believe it or not.  Good luck!!
