good question!! well there are 48 states in the continental united states and 2 (hawaii and alaska) in the uncontinental? united states for a total of 50 states! well the u.s government way back inn 1492 decided that there shall be 1 star per state, so here we are today with 50 stars on our flag! isnt that a funny thing?
