  1. Ironically the only ones who feel obligated to pay debt are those who are indebted.

  2. I'm not a Tax evader, but with higher taxes, I'd be more likely to  take more steps to pay less. Ronald Reagan proved that by lowering taxes, the wealthy actually pay more. Amazing isn't it?

  3. Rich people have top accountants that find loophole after loophole and before you know it the lower and middle class are getting screwed while Rockefeller gets away scott free. Great system huh? Americans were not meant to be taxed on our income in the first place but that's what greed has done to this country.

  4. The article you're referring to makes no such conclusions. Where did you come up with that?

As far as "tax evasion" goes - I paid more in taxes last year than my combined income for all of 1987-1993. No WAY on Earth did I use that much in services or social support...

So who's the tax cheat: the person who pays more than the average individual's entire income in taxes and uses no social services or government support network (beyond things like roads, etc that everyone uses); or the person who uses lots of social services and doesn't pay any taxes?

  5. The rich do pay taxes...and they hire people...and they consume at a greater rate, placing more money into the economy...I think you are a "paycist" (is that a word)? Thank God for the wealthy who contribute so greatly to this great nation...did you know both presidential candidates are millionaires? Instead of whacking them consider the "system" that allows loopholes that are exploitable.

  6. If tax levels were not excessive in their own countries, they would not be looking to invest in others. Why are you worried about millionaires evading taxes, their are people in all tax brackets that cheat.

  7. It's "prosecution".  Oh, you know, all of us rich guys are Bush's buddies and we get special breaks like not paying taxes!  HA!  Try the $73,000 in taxes I paid last year!!

And, what on earth does a "Scandal in Lichtenstein" have to do with it?

  8. None.

There is a big difference between evading taxes and legally avoiding them.  The fault lies with the government that keeps in place the loopholes in the voluminous tax statutes.
