  1. Partial  answer -- figures are scattered.

    Definition of "central coast".

    Paso Robles, 26,000 vineyard acres

San Luis Obispo, 26,400 acres of wine

Monterey, 38,200 acres of wine grapes

    Santa Clara, ??

    Santa Cruz ??

    Santa Barbara,  17,900

    as defined in:

    http://californiawineinfo.com/centralcoa...

Here is the total for all California:

    448,003 acres

    see:

There are discrepancies between sources: if you look at:

San Luis Obispo and  Cabernet Sauvignon (my favorite)

the Wine institute gives: 8,900 acres

    http://www.wineinstitute.org/resources/w...

but California Wine Info gives 8,600 acres

  2. Wine does not grow. It is made from various fruits and even honey,
