  1. get a goldfish or a betta.Only one fish per bowl. Those are the only kinds that can live in a bowl.Don't listen to people that say the

bigger the tank the better.Sure if it's a big fish get a tank. But what i'm trying to say is bigger is not always better. It's pretty good i have my fish in bowls. They're both Betta's.Living for 5 years straight and still going strong.Any fish that doesn't grow more than six inches can live in a bowl.

  2. No fish can live in a fish bowl. Its very wrong and i like bubbles saying, its like locking a baby in a closet. Peter P, You know why they only lived for 3 years? Because you stunted the goldfishes growth AND that tank is cruel. Goldfish live 20 years longer than 3. So 3 years for a goldfish is NOTHING!

Please dont keep a fish in a bowl, it needs filtration. Get a 5 gallon tank with 1 betta fish. Those are beautiful to look at.

  3. Bowls are for cereal, soup or to pee in.

unless your "tank" has proper filtration and airation, don't bother setting one up.  Fish are living things, and need to be treated as such.

putting a fish in a plain bowl of water is ignorant and irresponsible.

  4. Nothing can live in a fish bowl.  The guy that says his fish lived for 3 years.. Well a goldfish can get to 40 years old if given proper care.  If you do a proportion to the human life span that would be dying at age 7.5.  Nothing can live in a fish bowl.  Don't just do it because it's cute or something.

  5. Bowls are horrible it is like locking a baby in a closet! The smallest thing you can get is a male betta and they must live an at least a small 2.5 gallon tank so go out a buy that with a pretty male betta and you should be good and rember NO FISH BOWLS OF ANY KIND

edit: SDon;t listen to jimmy please he is seriously mistreating his goldfish and a bowl for a goldfish is very cruel he does not know how to take care of fish

  6. I would advise getting a bettafish, a male and keep it in no smaller then a one gallon tank. This is an appropriate sized tank for a betta i keep one myself, although the bigger tank you can get the better. I wouldnt put any other kind of fish in a bowl besides a betta.

  7. Goldfish love them!!! I have a fantail. It just loves it. It has another fish that has big bulgy eyes.

  8. the only fish you can get that can live in a bowl is a beta DO NOT get any other fish as they will die in time without filtration . if you do not want a lot of tank then get a beta with a 1.5 gallon , the tank box says goldfish starter kit but I would not put goldfish in this tank as they grow fairly large ,too big for these so called starter tanks. also do not put more than one beta in there as they are territorial and it's best to only keep one they will kill one another.

  9. omg first off i have to say some people are crazy, of course you can keep it in a fishbowl, thats what it is meant for!!!!!! i've kept like 3 fish at a time in a regular old fishbowl and they lived for 4-5 years!!!!!most fish die because the owners don't just put the fish in the tank give it some flakes and leave it be. i mean seriously people, THEY ARE GOLDFISH!!!!!!!!!!! as for the type of fish anything that isn't tropical will be fine

  10. I know just the one.  Paedocypris progenetica.  At about 1/3" (8mm) you could probably get 2-3, depending on the size of the bowl.

However, I seriously doubt they are available to the public, and probably won't be for some time, if ever.

Fish do poorly in bowls, and bowls don't allow for good viewing.  Get a 5-10 gallon tank and enjoy.
