  1. My hypothesis is that the ladybugs will eat about 5,000 a year so i define that it eats 25 a day if a larva and 34 apids a day if an adult. Typically, Ladybugs (Hippodamia convergens) eat over 5,000 Aphids and other soft-bodied pests during their one-year lifetime. Once hatched, the larvae eat about 350 to 400 aphids in the 2 weeks it takes them to become fully grown. A single ladybug larva was observed to have eaten 25 aphids per day for a total of 475 aphids during the course of its larval phase. As adults, ladybugs continue to eat about 34 aphids per day! Ladybugs are so popular in terms of aphid control because they eat so many! Adult ladybugs can eat up to a 1000 aphids a day and as a larvae, about half as many.
