How many apples in a pound.?

A recipe calls for three pounds of apples how many apples is that.I can't weight them so about how many is that. And what size?

  1. Mcintosh apples are the least heavy. So if you use those apples you should need at least 3 of them medium size. Also, make sure its not too big in volume. If you can when you buy them at the store, take a pound of butter and compare with your apples inserted in a bag.

  5. Depends on how big they are. I'd say small ones that are about fist-sized are 4 to a pound (so 12) and big ones the size of a softball are 2 to a pound (so 6). Or anywhere in between.
