Als the first one is a reservist SAP (policing is his second job) the 2nd one a permanent employee....that is the difference. A police constable earns R 77 000 per year, that is R 6 416 gross per month, after tax, medical aid, pension he probably takes home R 3 416. There is no way that some one can buy a car, feed and clothe a family, buy a house, pay schooling, insurance policies etc. on that little money. They should pay the SAP at ground level more, the ones that do all the work, not the big shots sitting in their offices doing no field work or crime prevention. For R 3 416 pm I will not risk my life for any one, and that is why there is so much corruption in the SAP, they cannot survive on thier measly salaries and therefor are easy targets for corruption.

I have worked closely to some police men for a while now and their really is some good honest ones but then again there is the corrupt ones as well

I dont think that a number increase in the police force will really help i think more should be done to remind them why they had chosen to be a police man to server the nation to catch the bad guys and not to be the bad guys.

Police men should start doing their job with respect and Honor and be loyal to their nation and country and not see their position as a crime opportunity

Usually only white cops and your link is no exception, the African cops frequently display all of the vile characteristics of the typical African, cowardice, corruption, ineptitude and indifference to hard work.

Unfortunately for South Africa and her citizens, the racist anti white employment laws of the ANC have forced thousands of competent and highly experienced white police officers out of the new and Africanised S.A.P. leaving it to resemble all other crumbling government departments under African leadership.
