also, B747, A380, A320, Cessna 210 Centurion. And any other awesome aeroplanes, they're all awesome.

  1. I think you have to elaborate your Q. What do you mean by atmosphere? Do we take it literary or take it as it is? well, I can tell you at 36,000' the A340 has homely atmosphere in first class, an office atmosphere in the business class, well the A380 has 5star bar/club atmosphere.

  2. Actually, there is no multiplication of atmospheres, because the higher you go the lower the atmospheric pressure becomes.

Broadly speaking, at 36000 feet the natural/ambient atmospheric pressure would be only one-quarter of the pressure found at sea level. Stated differently, if sea level is 100% of one atmosphere, which it is,  then 36000 feet above sees the pressure reduced by 75%. An average person would need an oxygen supply if they were working at this elevation/pressure.

Because of this aircraft are pressurized by means of pumping in extra air, to raise the internal atmospheric pressure and  make it more comfortable for passengers. Commonly, the maintained cabin pressure is about one-third less than it would be at sea level.

People do not expend a lot of energy while seated or just walking to the washrooms, so they do not need a lot of oxygen, and the pressure system works well.

  3. In all of the airplanes you list, the cabin pressure would be set at 8,000 feet above sea level, which is less than one (1) atmosphere.  One atmosphere at sea level is defined as 14.78 pounds per square inch, but at 8,000 feet above sea level the atmospheric pressure is roughly 0.74 or 74 percent of sea level pressure.

Thus at 36,000 feet, where the cabin pressure will be equivalent to 8,000 feet, the pressure will be roughly 10.88 pounds per square inch (.74 x 14.7).

All of the airplanes you list in your question have about the same amount of cabin pressurization.  I assume you mean a pressurized Centurion.
