  1. A schwann cell is a coating around a neuron. Unless it has a very large physical link to another neurone, then I highly doubt a cell which has the purpose of insulating one axon, would insulate more than one axon.

    However if you did get two axons virtually touching each other (which they wouldn't unless there was a disease or other physical interfereance - as this would interfere with electrical impulse), then a schwann cell could possibly expand slightly more than it would normally do, but this is a WHAT IF situation.

    There are many schwann cells on each axon, so its highly doubtful to find an all powerful schwann cell insulating more than one axon. I hope this answers your question :)

    But if you have an oligodendrocite, they can cover multiple neurons at a time. Found in CNS,
