When you were pregnant how many baby clothes did you stock up on? I know they grow fast and out grow their clothes really fast so how much should you buy? How much 0-3 and 3-6 and 6-12?

  1. It all depends on when your baby is going to be born and what the weather will be like. I stocked up on onesies since my baby was going to grow really fast during the hot summer!

  2. i would buy some newborn size and 0-3, but wait to do most of your shopping when the baby is born. It's fun to be able to buy clothes when your baby is born (especially once she fits into the 3-6 mo size). So many of the clothes i bought went to waste because they weren't the right size.  My baby ended up being tiny (5lb 8 oz) and couldn't wear 0-3 until she was 6 weeks old! she wore little gerber tees and a diaper and a receiving blanket!  I spent lots of money on super cute clothes and she never wore them. By the time she could fit in them the season had changed and they were too warm for the weather.

  3. When i was pregnant with all 3 of mine i always made sure i had 7 bonds singlets,7 wondersuits,a couple of pairs of baby socks and a couple of cute outfits for if we went out, I didn't see the point in getting much more than that for the first few months as they grow so fast and newborns are more comfterble in the wondersuits.

Instead of spending big on lots of newborns sizes i bought the items mentioned above an then i started buying 000-00 sizes so that i'm fully covered and don't need to buy anything else clothes wise for him until he's a year old.

If you make sure you have 7 days worth of clothes, singlets and socks for your bub that should be plenty, then stock up on lot's of diffrent sizes for as s/he gets older.

  4. i didnt stock up on much but the basics some sleepers and such and then I had probably enough outfits for a week or two (10-15 outfits). I stuck with this until about 6-12 month size which I then had more outfits than a week probably enough for a month(like 20 outfits).I listened to what everyone told me about them growing out of clothes so quick, it really is true. But I also did laundry 2-3 times a week...

My son is 2 years old now and wears a sz 4t, I have a box of clothing that he outgrew since birth, I feel grateful I didn't waste money on that stuff

  5. It is hard to get too much ahead of time as you don't know what size they'll be during different seasons. I'd definitely have some 0-3 on hand, and some newborn stuff (5-8lbs) on hand. Our son was 6 lbs 14 oz when he was born and not much fit him but the sleeper sacks for the first few weeks. I'd just make sure there are plenty of sleepers around the house, as that's mostly what you'll need those first few weeks, and you can gradually stock up as your baby starts growing. As a frame of reference (our son's been in the 50th percentile and was born Sept 1st) He was in newborn for the first few weeks, 0-3 til mid october, 3-6 til mid February, 6-12 til now. Hope that helps!

  6. its hard, i wish i had waited and bought as he needed. he is 7 months old and shirts are between 12 and 18 months and pants are 3 to 6 months...(he has a long torso and short little legs) they grow out of their clothes so darn fast anyway!! i wouldn't stock up on too much...just necessities until you see how big your baby is ( or how small) and stock up as needed
