Most homes that use wood for heating get it by the truckload, not in bags.  Six cords of wood is considered the basic requirement, if the house is not too big and the winter not too cold.  A cord of wood is  a tight stack 4 foot by 4 foot by 8 foot.

Wood pellets are used by less than 10% of homes.  I have seen estimates that an average house needs about 2 tons of pellets per year.  I don't know how big a bag you mean in your question.  If it's a 40 pound bag, then a house would need about 100 bags.
