  1. Rotation (or rotation pool) is a pocket billiards (pool) game, requiring a standard pool table, cue ball and triangular rack of fifteen pool balls, in which in which the lowest-numbered object ball on the table must be always struck by the cue ball first, to attempt to pocket (pot) numbered balls for points.Rotation is similar in many ways to nine-ball, but its scoring system is not unlike that of snooker and fifteen-ball.

As with nine-ball and other similar-format games, some attractions of rotation include performing unconventional or difficult shots to reach the correct ball, and quite often making risky attempts to score higher amounts of points by performing advanced shots such as combination shots (plants), bank shots (doubles) and swerves.

The object of the game is to score the most points, by pocketing higher-scoring balls than the opponent(s). A frame is won when a player or team reaches a number of points (usually 61) that makes it impossible for the opponent(s) to win. A match may consist of multiple frames (e.g. a race to 10), as in other types of pool game.

  2. Right orig version all 15

You make the 1-2-3- you have 6 points and so on untill the rack is finished-a handy combo on a higher # ball helps

  3. I believe Rotation is still the national game of the Philippines. You rack up all 15 balls, with the 1 at the front, the 2 and 3 at the corners, and the 15 in the center. You must contact the lowest numbered ball on the table first, and every time you pocket a ball you receive it's value in points (i.e., the 12 ball is worth 12 points). You do not need to call any shots, and combos and caroms to pocket higher numbered balls are legal. The first player to reach 61 points wins the game.

There are a couple rules that vary from other form of pool, so be sure you read and understand them before playing the game. For example, on scratches, you take ball in hand behind the headstring, not anywhere on the table. Also, if you do not contact the correct ball first, the other player has the choice of playing the ball where it lies or deferring to the original shooter, they do not get ball in hand.

  4. Rotation includes a whole series of pool games in which the lowest numbered object ball has to be contacted first.  The most popular version of rotation is 9-ball.  Other popular forms of rotation include 6-ball, 7-ball, and 10-ball.  However, the original form of rotation uses all fifteen object balls.  M.D.-BCA Instructor/Referee.

  5. This was the game that we played when you....but we called it "61".....you shoot the balls in sequence and the first one to get "61" points wins the game.....just like 9 ball but with 15 balls...read once that Efren Reyes once ran 8 racks in a row of rotation....he did not on the 9th because he lost the "flip"....in his country, you flip a coin for the break....so he is not only skillful but lucky as well!!

  6. wE ALWAYS USED 15.

  7. straight shooter already gives you good answer..........

simply the original Rotation Game requires 15 object ball and 1 cueball to play...Remember you should pocket the lowest number on the table..
