  1. I was looking at one just the other day and I counted six. Red, yellow, orange, green, blue and purple. There may be more that can't be seen with the naked eye though.

  2. There are 7 colors in a rainbow.

    red

    orange

    yellow

    green

    blue

    indigo

    violet

  3. There used to be 7.

    red

    orange

    yellow

    green

    blue

    indigo

    violet

However, Roy G. Biv has changed his name to Roy G. Bv.

Actually, scientist have deleted indigo from the seven colors.  So now there are 6.

  4. i say 8

  5. By convention 7 colors are named (Roy G Biv- red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet).  But  each color grades into the next  so the naming of them is a bit arbitrary.  Lots of people name 6 colors, merging 2 of the last three named.  Some do not distinguish easily  the first 3, again naming only 2.  Some of the problem may be the names of the colors, Some of the problem may be that no rainbow is perfect and are constantly changing.

Try using a prism throwing the light against a white wall.  Count them for yourself.

  6. 7? An infinite amount? idk

    yep 7 roygbiv, 5 visible, 2 ultraviolet

  7. ROYGBIV

    seven.

    i think.

  8. I think the answer is "6".

When my children were in pre-school, their teacher used to sing this song with the children-(it sounds like twinkle twinkle little star, but with these words instead).

"Red and Orange Green and Blue, shining Yellow Purple too. All the colors that we know, lit up in God's bright rainbow. Red and Orange Green and Blue shining Yellow Purple too.
