How many beaches are on antigua? and how many are opne to the public?

As the others have said, the island claims 365 beaches. Many are open to the public, so you won't have trouble finding one.

If you are visiting via a cruise, several are located nearby and accessible by taxi from the cruise port. It took us about 10 minutes to drive from the port at St. Johns to Fort Bay Beach.

If you do take a taxi, try to negotiate the price and ask rates from several drivers before you pick one.

365 beaches, one for every day of the year. All the beaches are public beaches. Some of the beaches are not easy to get to. Hidden coves and such. The best and most famous beach is Dickenson Bay.
