  1. When my son was born (premature) I kept him swaddled in a regular swaddling blanket and then used a warm, fuzzy fleece on top of it.  My son was also born in January and it was 20 below zero where we live, so I had to keep him extra toasty.  I also held him a lot for the first few months and spent a few nights cuddling him in the recliner because he got really chilly whenever I put him down.

If you have your baby in an air conditioned room a lot of the time, I would use 2 blankets.  Really, it is a lot of trial and error since every baby is different.  If you bundle your baby in 1 blanket and he fusses, put another one on him.  If you have 2 blankets and he gets sweaty, remove one.  Lots of snuggling will also help.  Also, when using multiple blankets, you have to be extra vigilant that the blankets don't flop up over baby's face!  Good luck!

  2. My best friend had twin boys both premmies..and I believe she just kept like 2 or 3 blankets on them. Remember..keeping them close will also help. I'd do 2 doubled up and swaddle them...then lay one on them.
