  1. 2 a week in the summer

or what ever the floater holds

its like bird feed..as long as there is some in there..it's all good ...

you may want to use a 1/3 bag of *shock* once a week for a pool that size

    get the 15 minute stuff....gl

  2. go to the pool store and buy a chemical tester. you shouldn't need more than a few 1" tablets, i would think.

  3. I've owned pool homes for 30 plus years here in FL. and certainly a pool store can not only offer you various test kits, but advise in regard to formulas for chemicals versus gallons.

Just an aside. Test kit chemicals should be regularly discarded and replaced.

You do leave some details a mystery however, such as using a tab floater, or have an injection system, in line with your filter,,, if you even have a filter?

I'm also going to assume this is 15 ft. diameter, ROUND pool? possibly Vinyl lined? I suggest NOT overloading with anything, and you need not use shock if you maintain the correct balances with what chemicals are properly measured and introduced into the pool.

Tabs in any system used are relatively slow to dissolve and should deliver the proper amount as can be assimilated by the gallons of water and the use of the pool, having to not only keep bacteria and algae at bay, but also fight body oils, sun block, dust and dirt blown in or tracked in.

If you haven't already, you might also consider a cover, and that need not be anything more than a large Blue Tarp, for times on Non use. The Sun alone will degrade the chemical balance in any pool.

    Just my two "sense"
