  1. Traditionally a case contains 9 litres, which is 12 x 75cl bottles, 24 x half bottles or 6 magnums.

But, health and safety means increasingly, boxes of 6 bottles are being used for wine, because they are lighter and easier to lift and carry, and unfortunately and increasingly, they are being referred to as 'cases'.

So how many bottles are in a case depends on what is meant by a case.

If you buy wine by the case, first check what the seller means by 'case'.

  2. 12

  3. A case of wine is 12 bottles, if the bottles are 1 liter or .750 liters.
