our wedding is in march, outdoors. i want red roses. my centerpieces will be nice bowls filled with favors. to cut down on floral costs, is it appropriate to only have flowers for me, my 3 bridesmaids, and the mens butinneres? i will have flowers for the alter-arch thing too. do i need any more for a nice wedding?

  1. Im only having flowers for the wedding party and the parents/grandparents. My center pieces are bird cages with candles in them (for a bird theme) ... saving a lot of  $

  2. You pretty much have got enough, except some sort of corsage or tussy -mussy for the two Moms, and it is a custom to give the grandmoms something, too, but you don't have to. You could reduce that cost by having a single rose, with or without a bow for each of them.

The arch will take care of decorating the church, you don't have to have more there.

If you want to have flowers on the cake table, fine, but the cake can be there alone, no problem.

If you want a bouquet for yourself to save forever, then there is that, but you don't have to do that, either.

  3. Usually the mother of the bride and groom get a corsage and the fathers get a boutonniere as well.

If you have a flower girl you can just get some fake flower petals from Michaels. Oh - and don't forget to make a separate bouquet for you to toss.

  4. You might want to consider rose petals to glam up the tables, cake table and for the flower girls?

I used fake flowers for the arch

and a very nice, elegant and cheap centerpiece is a bowl filled with water, river rocks and one open rose and sprinkle some rose petals around -- it would love AWESOME

(of course, you would put it in a bigger bowl)

  5. if you have a flower girl, you can go to the store and buy fake red rose petals .....they have them at any craft store for like 300pcs for 3.95$ roughly. that's normally the price...give or take a few cents.

im just doing myself (bride), my bridesmaids and the bouteniors... i dont have any flower girls or anything (just my adults!) so nothing else is really neccessary.

i think since you're doing an outside wedding that's more of a relaxed feel, you'll be fine... people only expect at least the bride and her maids to have them...   my last wedding i was in, the guys had lil pocket squares... no bouteniors and it looked really good too...

    =)

  6. Corsages or small bouquets for the mothers.  Bouts for the fathers.

Are there any other relatives who needs corsages or bouts?  Grandmothers?  Grandfathers?

  7. You can have as many or as few flowers as you want.

  8. thats plenty of flowers, in fact, i used fake hibiscus flowers (lol) but nobody knew the difference except me and my bridesmaids and the groom and groomsman.

  9. You can have as much or as little as you want, its your day.

Dont forget the corsage for the mums tho as this is usual but for buttonholes for the rest of the guests forget it, its too expensive and not necessary.

We have over 160 guests for our wedding next June and they certainly will not be having flowers lol.

    Good luck.
