  1. At my work only minors get a 30 min break in any shift thats longer than 4 hrs and adults get 15 so yeah that should be it.

  2. Up to the state where you live; there are no federally mandated break times

    FEDERAL:

When must breaks and meal periods be given?

The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) does not require breaks or meal periods be given to workers. Some states may have requirements for breaks or meal periods. If you work in a state which does not require breaks or meal periods, these benefits are a matter of agreement between the employer and the employee (or the employee's representative).

  3. You need to tell us what state you're in.  In most states in the US, if you are over 18, you don't get paid breaks, and it is up to the employer as to whether or not you are allowed to take unpaid breaks.

So click on the "Add Details" button and tell us where you are, or else go find your state's Department of Labor web site and poke around under their "Wage and Hour" section to find information about breaks for your state.

  4. Maybe one, 15 minute break, if anything at all. Five hours is not much.

  5. Not only are you an adult (some laws are different for juveniles) but you aren't even working a 6 hr shift so you aren't entitled to a break.  Your boss may be nice and give you a very short one.

  6. Depends on the state. 1 15 minute break is all I could see. You don't get a 30 minute lunch until you work a 6 hour shift. I work 12 hour shifts and get 2 15 minute breaks and a paid 30 minute lunch.

Do a search for "State labor commission" for your state and look it up.

  7. technically by law you don't have to be given a break unless you work over 6 hours. You'll have to check with your employer. They might be nice and give you one.

  8. It all depends on where you live. In a lot of states, you don't have to get any. See the site below for a state-by-state listing.

  9. Depends on State law, and you didn't tell us where you are.

In "most" States, a five hour shift wouldn't legally entitle you to a break at all.

  10. In most jobs I've had, you'd get one 15 minute break. If you have a nice boss, maybe he'd give you another break, but I don't think they legally have to.

  11. at my work it seems like the people that smoke take a 10 minute break every 20 minutes, so they only work like 40 minutes an hour

why the eff someone give me thumbs down you dumb *****
