How many bridal gown appointments should I make?

I'm planning to go out an visit my Mom for a week shop for my wedding gown. We're planning to make appointments at bridal shops on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, then go to the Filene's Basement bridal sale in Boston on Friday (no advice on this particular event please, I'll make another post for that.) Originally we were planning one appointment per day, but now my Mom is asking if I want to visit more shops than that. How many is too many? Will I get exhausted if I do too many in such a short time? How many stores did you go to?

  1. I would get tired if I went to many shops. I went to 3 total-2 in one day and 1 the next. When you find a shop with nice people working there, you will want to spend more time in it. When I went shopping with my flower girl for her dress, I got confused about where each dress was. We went to 3 shops in one day. I think 1 per day is the best idea.

  2. Don't do more than 2 in one day. Make sure someone is there to take pictures. If you really like one but aren't sure (or when you do find the one you want!) take a few pictures of it, AND write down the designer and number!! You do NOT want the wrong dress coming back in several months and not have proof of what you wanted! (Don't worry, that's rare, but just in case, you know?) Also, sometimes when people get the dress back, they think they remember it differently because they had tried on so many in such a short period of time. Take Pictures!

  3. Go to as many as you want. It will not heart to see a lot of dress! I think it is fun trying wedding dress on!

  4. Def don't do more than 2 shops per day. All the dresses will start to look alike! I took pictures of my favorite ones so I would remember when I made my final decision. I went to about 5 stores total in a months time and found my dress at the last store of course. Good luck and have tons of fun!!!!!!!!!

  5. Don't do too many in one day, they will all start to look alike (I know this from experience).

I read in an article, probably on theknot.com, but I don't remember for sure, that you should try on more than 8 dresses in one day or you will burn out/get confused.
