  3. Depends on what kind of fuel.  Fuel is anything you burn for energy.  Here's the BTU content of some common fuels:

    Propane = 92,000 BTU/gal

    Gasoline = 124,000 BTU/gal

    Fuel Oil #1 and #2 (used for home heating) = 133,000 - 142,000 BTU/gal
