  1. i'm not sure, but i think you might want to start thinking in terms of acres per calf.  because those d**n animals need space and lots of grass

  2. That answer is relevant to the acre in question and nothing else. An acre of improved pasture In Knoxville Iowa being managed in a controlled grazing system May sustain 5 to 10 200 lb. calves while an acre in Phoenix won't feed one.

  3. 31.221

  4. I think it`s an acre a pony.

  5. All depends on the quality of the forage, location, facility/ farm, and what additions to the diet you provide (grain, feed, hay). Ask your County Farm Rep or Agricultural Extention Agent.

  6. This depends on so many factors it's hard to give you a specific answer.  What you are trying to calculate is "carrying capacity".  I suggest you contact your local Cooperative Extension Service for the Land Grant University closest to you.  If you can't do that, the University of Missouri has some wonderful work on pasture management and carrying capacity.  If you use information developed outside your geographic area, you'll have to adapt the information for your local climate.  Even then, keep in mind that in dry years you can't have as many calves as you can in wet years (and who can predict that in advance -- so be flexible).  There are about 20 other factors to consider.  Check out the Extension Service - they can help you calculate your farm's carrying capacity.

  7. I am not sure how many per acre but I know a calf needs  25 feet by 25 feet square. Pigs is about 5-7 feet square.

  8. Calves: umm..I believe 100 pounds...so its the weight not the number????!!

    Sheep:350 per acre

    Pigs: 15-20 sows.

    b. 7-15 huts. 7 pigs per hut...per acre...

    goats:12-15

  9. you cant tell because you never know the population of a place especially animals

  10. Ask the NFU

  11. I know that you can have 20 head of cattle on one acre.

But if it is just calves you could get by with maybe twice that many.

  12. I'm pretty sure small mouth Bass need plenty of room also. Hope this helps you get started in your ranching career.
