How many california condors where killed using DDT?

Cannot find the answer anywhere. An edcuated guess at this point would even work. Helping little brother with research paper for fifth Grade. Yikes, PLEASE HELP!

  1. I doubt that condors use DDT.  More likely it was humans that used DDT.  

    Properly stated the question would be something like,   How many California condor deaths could be attributed to the use of DDT?

    I can't find anything that actually separates out the causes of death in California condor.   But the following article has a good history and does a decent job of numbers tracking.

  2. It is unverified that DDT is the culprit behind condor deaths.  Egg shell thinning experiments were conducted in lab conditions, and DDT did not cause the expected thinning.

    Lead, Mercury, and NOISE are also associated with egg shell thinning.  the use of leaded gas was prevalent in the US until it was phased out it the 70's.  Sonic boom tests occured over the US in the 60's and then were pretty much phased out.
