I want to know how many calories should i eat. Im 5'7 and 21 years old and i weigh 135 pounds. Also i started working out a lot doing cardio for 45 minutes 30 of which i run at speed 6. Then i do abs and i will switch off between arms and legs on the days. I go to the gym 5 days a week. I got on the scale and gained 5 pounds. Is that muscle or am i getting fat. Also I am so much more hungry through out the day now that i am working out harder is that normal. I also switched birth control does that have anything with gaining weight and being more hungry? Please no rude answers. Thank you

  1. using this website: http://www.momscape.com/articles/how-man...

and there are many others that say the same thing, I calculated how many calories you are eating right now to maintain your weight, and it came to about 2500 calories seeing as you're very active. If you wanted to reduce your caloric intake to lose weight faster, I wouldn't drop it below 2100 because you're already at your ideal weight for your height. I think you gained weight because you gained muscle, and because you switched birth control pills, because you really shouldn't be gaining any fat mass with your routine. Just keep up doing what you're doing, because you live a very healthy lifestyle and thats all you need to know, regardless of what the scale says.

    Hope I helped! xx

  2. It's obviously muscle. You're more hungry because the muscle is using more energy when you're doing nothing. So you can eat more. But don't pig out. Aim for 2000 calories.

  3. Eat as many as you want..

    Count chemicals, not calories.
