  1. It depends on your activity and how many calories you are burning.  The more you exercise, the quicker it will be.  But if you build muscle, it will help you burn more calories each day.

Prevention.com has a health tracker that helps you keep track of the calories you taken in, and the calories you've burned each day.  The link is www.prevention.com, then click on the "My Health Trackers" tab on the FAR RIGHT just below the purple box.  I haven't used it, but I've heard good things about it.

Also, try cutting out all sugar for awhile.  That includes any soda (diet too).  Stick to naturally sweet foods if you crave a sweet.  I'll bet you will see results a lot faster, especially around the belly.  I wrote a blog on sugar and natural sweeteners.  Here is a link if you'd like to view it:http://buzz.prevention.com/community/sha...

  2. if u want to lose one pound, u need to work off 3500 more calories than u eat... a person generally burns 1500 a day by just laying there doing nothing. if u eat 1200 calories a day, u'll lose weight! prolly 2 or 3 in a week =]

  3. after I had my children my Dr. put me on 1500 for 2 weeks then dropped to 1200 for 2 then 1000 for  1 month. your body gets use to that and you have to start eating a little more then start dropping again because you go into starvation mode (storing calories because it thinks you are starving) is what he told me. It worked for me but exercise was a must through the whole thing. Not strenuous but enough to burn calories. Good luck!

p.s. watch fats and carbs.... eat balanced meals and drink plenty of water and don't forget a multi vitamin with potassium

  4. You need to burn more calories than you take in. But I believe the average recommendation for a healthy diet is 2,000 calories. You do need to eat enough calories spread throughout the day in order to keep your metabolism up so you can lose weight.

  5. It depends on your current weight, height, & activity level. Use a calorie calculator like @ http://www.caloriescount.com/ or sparkpeople.com & use it again after you've lost some weight because you'll need to decrease your calories again a small amount. Once you're at a weight you are happy with use a calorie calculator to tell you how many calories to consume to maintain your weight.

I've never used spark people before but heard good things about it. It looks like you make an account & when you input what you eat in the food diary it counts the calories for you & tells you if you need more of something in your diet like calcium or fiber.

  6. It depends on how quickly you want to lose weight. I am on a 800-1000 calorie a day diet called Medifast. I have lost 58lbs in 3 1/2 months and I'm almost to my goal weight! It's been a really easy ride, too. But you only want to do diets in that calorie range if they're healthy.

  7. Depends on how active you are.. and also you burn calories just from being alive so make sure you count that (look up bmr caculator)

i'd say about 1400 cal. is perfect

  8. 1000 for a woman and 2000 for a man is average

  9. about 12,00

    to 15,00

but not much more than that

    good luck!

  10. Less than 2,000 calories. But like someone else said, you need to burn more calories than you take in.
