To answer your question, 12 oz beer can range from 100 to 200 calories depending whether it's a light beer or a heavy dark beer.  I imagine a "regular" beer might be somewhere in the middle, maybe around 150 calories.  Same with wine, some lighter wines are 100 calories per glass, but some heavier wines, like port, can be 200 calories per glass.

Unfortunately for me, my favorite beers are dark heavy beers and my favorite wines are heavy dark wines. haha. ;)
