I just got a treadmill and I'm a recovering anorexic. It's really important that I know how many calories I'm burning on the treadmill so I can balance it with a diet that won't make me lose weight. The treadmill I have won't let you enter a weight, it just calculates the calories based on a 180 man. I am a 105-110 pound female. If it said 950 calories burned for the 180 pound male, about how much would it burn for me?

  1. ask a nutritionist

  2. wow u sound like you are stilll anorexic!!!  itas ok tho i was too  and i ended up recovering too quickly and got fat  eat healthy work out like 30 in a day ull be fine    yeah u burned less cuz u weigh less u proly burned about 750 calories   bullimia works:)

  3. i think the way to figure that one out is to set up a ratio

    950/180 ( x/110)

    180x= 950(110)

    180x=104,500

    104,500 divided by 180 is 580

    so that makes your answer 580 calories

    Hope this helped!!

  4. probably a safe 400

    the smaller you are the less likely you are to loose in a short period of time.

  5. Do you like algebra? If you can set this scenario up in an Algebraic equation and cross multiply you can calculate the answer.

    A 180 pound man = 950 calories and you (110) pounds = x calories

    180lbs              110lbs

    950 calories      x calories

    110 * 950 = x * 180

    104500 = 180x (then divide both sides by 180)

    580.5 = x

    Answer if 180lb person burned 950 calories, the 110 lb person would have burned 580.5 calories

  6. If it is highly important that you know, I would suggest purchasing a heart rate monitor.  I LOVE mine!!  It takes your age, height, and weight and measures your heartrate and tells you exactly how many calories you are burning.  This is the one I have, it didn't cost too much:

    http://www.amazon.com/REEBOK-HEART-MONIT...

    I got mine for $25 so you may want to look around.

    EDIT:  You guys should leave her alone.  Just because she isn't fat, doesn't mean she shouldn't work out.  It is good for EVERYONE to get their heart rate up!!

  7. are your sure your recovering. it doesn't sound like it to me. Your avatar looks anorexic.

  8. around 600 some

  9. if you jog at a warm up pace( like 3-5 miles per hour)  you will generally burn about 100 calories per mile.  that is without incline.  with incline you can burn twice as many.

  10. you may want to consult your nutritionist, or find one. they would help you set up a healthy diet that would help you gain healthy weight and probably some muscle. =)

  11. if you are still just recovering...I suggest first regaining a healthy eating habit and BMI before trying to work your body out. You will probably over-exert yourself by putting undo stress on your fragile frame. SO, it is essentially more important right now for you to eat healthy before you get concerned, once again, about losing weight or extra strength.

  12. There's a walking cals burned calculator at:

    http://www.caloriesperhour.com

    You can enter your weight, time spent on treadmill, speed, etc, and it will crank out a pretty decent estimate of calories burned.

    Best of luck to you in your recovery,
