  1. Carats are not determined by size, but by weight. Have you ever noticed in a magazine it says 1ctw? that means 1 carat total weight. To find a true answer to this question you have to visit a jeweler. It is a very beautiful ring, consider yourself a very lucky woman  :o)

  2. It looks to be around 2 carats.

  3. That's definitly NOT more than 1ct. It's probably .75 to 1 ct. That's NOT a huge diamond and she seems to have pretty average looking hands...though nobody on Y!A can give you the right weight. Only a certified jeweler can. But from the looks of it I say it's not more than 1ct.

  4. I would guess 1.25-1.5 carats.  It kind of depends on how big her hand is as a comparison....

  5. It is hard to tell from pictures. I would say a carat.

  6. With only the top view of a square cut, it's hard to tell, but probably 1.5 or 2 at the most.  The best way is to take it to a jeweler and ask.  Hope it's not a fake one, they can tell that too.  That size stone would have papers.

  7. There is a new trick in recent cuts of stone.  They are cut wide on top to the naked eye, but they don't have any depth.  It means that they are fairly flat and not worth near as much in carats.  That is why no one can tell from a photo.

  8. 20

  9. You should take it to the closest jewelry store. They can at least give you an educated "guess-timate" by looking at the whole thing.

Mine's .86 and yours "looks" bigger...

  10. your ring looks very similar to mine, and mine is 1ct.

  11. it's at least 1 carat, maybe even a little bit more

  12. Nice rock, but carats is a measurement of mass, not volume, so it's really difficult to eyeball. Jess' guess is good tho.

  13. 1.5 or thereabouts

  14. Carat's Go By The Weight Of The Diamond. Not Many People Can Tell Just By Looking At It.

But Judging By The Size, I'd Say About 1.5 or 2.

  15. definitely 1.5

  16. its very difficult to guest looking at a stone depending on depth and weight.  Around a carat at first glace.
