I am no fan of Indian cricket team but I would say that Sehwag is not fluke.He has scored 11 150's in different pitches and is joint no.1 Indian player with double centuries.the cathces you are saying about will always be there as he is a striker and Gilchrist,Jayasuriya and Afridi are also that type of batsman But sehwag is better than them As he averages more than 50 in tests that is too high for striker.
