How many children die from riding in pickups?

Question

I know that 100,000 dogs die annually as a result of riding in the back of pickups or flatbeds, but does anyone know how many children die from this?

As far as children - why would a child be riding in the back of a pickup? This isn't 1957 in the Ozarks.

I'm not aware of the stats but I always rode in the back of dad's truck in the summer time.  Don't see a problem with it.  My kids all rode in the back of mine too.  We all new better than to be walking around while the vehicle was moving.  I'm sure there have been accidents where kids were hurt because of it but can we make everything that's fun for kids illegal?   How many kids drown every year??  should we make swimming pools and the lakes illegal to play in??  Snow mobiles?  4 wheelers?  where does it end?  And yes I do live in the Ozarks.  lol

I have never seen a child on the back of a pick up (it's illegal at almost all jurisdictions and "traffic-cop & social-services" magnet for sure.
