  1. the first person to answer was right.  Mitosis results in identical daughter cells (same amount of chromosomes as the original, 46 in humans).  Dude above is thinking of meiosis.

Mitosis is a process of cell division which results in 2 daughter cells that are identical to the parent cells and have the same number of chromosomes.  Most cells in the body are produced in this way.  So diploid cells have 2 sets of chromosomes, meaning each cell has 4 chromosomes, for a total of 8.

  3. guy above me is a pillack the correct answer is 23 (after mitosis) and 46 before mitosis.
