How many citizenships can a person hold?

Question

I hold Dual Citizenship with Canada an the United States I would like to get Citizenship with Israel as my parents are both Jewish An used to live in Israel many years ago before moving. But would I have to give up one citizenship? Or can I get citizenship with Israel an still keep my Dual Citizenship with Canada an the United States ? I heard about Multiple citizenship but not sure how that works?
