How many city's/towns in America have a population under 9,000 people? Please provide data link. ?

Since the Obama people once again cut down small towns across America I want to know how much of the country was affected in the crude remarks. I like McCains pick for VP and could care less she comes from a small town, but Obama has a probs with it.

Too many to count.  Some are ghost towns with a population of less than 20.  (And I don't trust "O"!)
