Hey everyone,

I'm asking this because I'm llittle confused about it, how the classes work in college. How about if you don't want to participate in class, will they take you point off? How many students are in just one classroom? I'm going to wait for ya answers. Well see you soon.

  1. You usually must attend classes, as often the lectures do not follow the textbooks.  In many courses, it is required because the class discussions are part of your grade.  It's NOT like high school, and there are temptations to cut class--don't do it.  Many professors will reduce your grade if you don't show up.  There are anywhere from 20 to many hundreds in each class--it depends on the school.  Some courses require labs or studios, which are additional hours, and those you must attend for credit.

The number of courses depends on the requirements at your school, but usually there are 30-40 credits for a major.  In Arch, there are additional lab/studio hours so it would be higher.
