How many clubs should i join this year?

how many clubs will colleges be impressed with

keep in mind:

-im on varisty softball so i have softball alll throughout the year!

-im in some honors classes so ill have a lot of homework

-i want to be an active member of these clubs and hope to have a leadership position like president in the future

so how many clubs that im really involved in do you think is the right number to impress colleges?

You have the right idea...balance.  Don't let grades suffer through over involvement.  Don't let your athletic teammates down by being too bookish.

Being in one group you REALLY enjoy and excel in is better than being a member of five you just do.

A suggestion.  Join something you like and make sure the advisor will write you a letter of recommendation.  That person can talk about you in better terms and will impact your application in a positive way.

Only you know your schedule, and only you can know what you can handle, so I would say to join as many as you think reasonable. As for impressing colleges, I do believe that those honors classes and an exceptional gpa will impress the colleges a lot more than extra-curricular activities; in all my college paperwork not one question was asked about my extra-curriculars. Therefore, I would recommend that you always focus on your studies a lot more than extra-curriculars. I hope this helps :)
