How many cm^2 are in one m^2?

converting meters squared into centimeters squared... is it 1m^2 = 100cm^2 or am i missing a step?

  1. 1m^2=1m*1m=100cm*100cm = 10000cm^2


  2. 1m =100cm

    1m^2=100cm x 100cm

    1m^2= 10,000cm^2

  3. think about it this way:

    1m = 100cm

    therefore

    1m^2 = 10000cm^2

    (square both sides)
