  3. rainbows are arcs of coloured light formed when the Suns rays are reflected and refracted (bent) by drops of water in the air - falling rain or spray. the colours in rainbows are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. a rainbow with red on the outside and violet on the inside is called a primary bow. sometimes, the light is reflected twice and the colours are reversed in a secondary bow. it is possible to see a complete rainbow from an aeroplane.

  4. I do don't homework for students and try to give sources you can look up to enhance your learning.  I've provided that below.

  5. 7. ROY G BIV. cos the reflection

  6. It depends on your definition of colour.  If you break white light into groups of colours that we see there are 7, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo & violet.

This is because light is made up of photons with different wavelengths and they are bent when passing through a raindorp and the degree of bending is related to the wavelenght some colours bend more than others so they are spread out to give rise to the colours of the rainbow.

In actuality there are an infinite number of possible wavelengths but we choose to classify the visible in bins of seven.  The ones invisible to the eye are infra red and ultra violet.

    Hope this helps,

    Peter

  7. 7 colors.

    The g*y people created that.

  8. There are an infinite number of colours in the rainbow. Light of all wavelengths is refracted and relected within the water droplets.

You will, normally, also see a fainter secondary rainbow caused by what is, in effect, a repeat of these processes.
