How many columns are there in the Mezquita in Cordoba, Spain?

I am doing a project on the Moors. The question is pretty self-explanitory.

i have been there and just for fun cause i had nothing else to do i counted them  37 is my count

There are over 850 columns.  They are made of granite, jasper and marble and capped by brick and stone arches.  Construction began in the year 784.
