How many companies survive when they bring their products back form overseas to the U.S?

  1. There are more then you realize.  When quality products are made in the USA, they sell, but when the lower cost material and labor is needed  to drop the price of the product, the USA manufactures have to subcontract and go for overseas labor and material  in order to sell the product at a lower cost in the USA in order to survive.   If labor prices were the same in other countries or were higher then the USA,  the companies would stay in the USA and would not relocate the manufacturing part of the business.


  2. Apparently quite a few. Many companies now only have sales and administrative offices here, and the actual *products* they produce are manufactured overseas, then shipped here. America has for all intents and purposes ceased being a manufacturing nation. Most work done here in the U.S. now is service-oriented. Actual products are made overseas and then shipped to the U.S. to be distributed. Americans can get jobs here in sales, marketing, distribution, etc.
