How many continents are there and name them?

The textbook says 7.  Your teacher is probably looking for the answer 7.

But look at a globe, and you'll see there are REALLY 6.

and EURASIA -

Europe and Asia are the same land mass!  Just look at it!  It's one big piece of land, isn't it?  

There are cultural differences between Europe and Asia, but is that really enough?  We just throw the technical definition of a continent out the window because Europeans and Asian people are "different"?  Who the heck do we think we are?

I say, rise up in protest!  Change the textbooks! Who's with me? There are only 6 continents!

(Yeah, I was a real troublemaker in class...)

In responce to Honky, Using that theory, there are 4 continents, as Africa is attached to Eurasia, and North America and South America are also connected.

So America, Africa/Eurasia, Australia and Antarctica.

But 0fficially, there are 7.
