  1. Just over 70 unless you count protectorates as well,  I haven't checked recently. We do a lot of travelling, including some fairly obscure countries like Bhutan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Laos, Myanmar, Bolivia, Liechtenstein etc. We particularly like to see countries with cultures quite different from our own. I can name them if required..,

Antigua, Argentina, Aruba, Austria, Barbados, Belgium, Bhutan, Bolivia, Bosnia H., Brazil, Bulgaria, Cambodia, China, Croatia, Cuba, Curacao, Cyprus, Czech, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Grenada, HongKong, Hungary, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Kenya, Laos, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Malaysia, Malta, Mauritius, Monaco, Morocco, Myanmar, Namibia, Nepal, Netherlands, Norway, Palestine (occupied west bank!), Peru, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Tajikistan,  Thailand, Tibet, Trinidad and Tobago, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, United States, Uzbekistan, Vatican,  Venezuela, and Vietnam.

    Note to Agent Ginger..,

I am 42 so my 'UCPY' is 1.7, but my daughter is just 16 and she has come with us to over 50 so her 'UCPY' is 3.125

Harry K, aren't you forgetting Cuba, Jamaica, Bermuda, Antigua, Anguilla, Haiti, Dominican, Dominica, St Lucia, Aruba, etc, etc, etc all of which are easily reachable from the U.S? (and a lot nearer than they are from the U.K).

  2. 24...you beat me!

Saying that i included Corsica as a country in its own right so maybe that is cheating....

But how old are you and what is your average number of countries visited per year? I am 20 so my average is 1.2 UCPY (unique countries per year ie doesn't include repeat visits)

What is your UCPY and that of your friend with 33? :P

    Good game this! :D

EDIT: UCPY (Unique Countrie Per Year) = number of unique countries divided by your age ;P

Lap up the bounty of cheap deals that should be coming this year with everyone poor from the credit crunch! I reckon there will be some really cheap deals this summer :)

    Keep travelling! :)

EDIT: Oooh we can include vatican city?!! :D You've been to some awesome countries :)

  3. 36

  4. 53

  5. I have only been to 14..But there is no place like home

  6. Three countries i have visited, Spain, Gibraltar and Africa.

  7. I've been to 10. However, Alana you are not really being fair to people. If you were to consider the EU as one country, how many have you been to? The US is a large country, with only Canada and Mexico as borders. If you were living in Switzerland, you can go for an afternoon drive and visit 3 countries, you can't do that in the US.

  8. Now lets see....... not that many now I think about it.

France, Spain (more than once), Tunisia, Israel and Romania (To help out in an orphanage).

Going to visit pals in Canada this year as they moved out there a couple of weeks ago and New Zealand next year as my brother is moving there. Must have been something I said.

Oh and I have to fit in some visits to Tasmania as it's on my list of possible countries to Emigrate to.

Edit: Oh I just remembered a cheeky skive off work to visit Austria!

  9. 0 i don't even have a passport.

  10. 4

USA for 3 weeks (Texas) & Las Vegas.

France on a booze cruise years ago

Bilboa (spain) for about 3 hours !!!

Hook of Holland for a stag night (again about 3 hours)

  11. 27 Unique visits (for more than a day) in the last 20 years or so - maybe some more with my parents but can't remember where!

Some people here with huge numbers, yet some people really need to buy an atlas!

Harry K: The EU is, fortunately, not one country. There are 27 member nations, each with a very different and unique culture, and most with their own language. While the USA might be a similar size, culture varies little from state to state.

  12. New Zealand

    U.S.A

    Canada

    Australia

    Vatican city

    Italy

    Belgium

    Czech Republic

    Switzerland

    France

    Germany

    Austria

    The Netherlands

and you said outside of the U.K but because i live in New Zealand I will add the U.K to my list.

  15. I went on a day trip to Calais once. Didn't like it, lot of French types around!

  16. Germany, Portugal 3 times, Lanzarote, Malta, Turkey, Cyprus, Spain, Ibiza (going again in June).

  17. Not many:

France, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Tenerife, Iceland

    Six!  Quite rubbish really!

  18. I've never felt any need to leave the homeland, and i haven't thus far.
