  1. Would be very hard to answer this question, since most Americans don't actually eat the entire cow, pig or chicken.  We tend to eat only certain parts of these animals.

While there are cultural exceptions, we don't eat the heads, feet and bones, or even most of the organs.  These parts aren't all wasted, since much goes into animal feed and fertilizer.  (and of course, leather products.)

A more telling figure would be to ask "How many pounds of meat does the average American eat every year?"

  2. idk but the eatens good around here,  we got it all rib eye, tenderloin, brisket, pork chops, bacon, sausage, chicken breast, chicken wings, etc.....  yumm gettin hungry..lol

  3. What a great way to get people to think about just how many animals they really do eat, and what goes into the average mouth. Then consider the factory farm.

  4. I'll give you a rough estimate to your question.  Stats show that the average American eats 64 pounds of beef per year, 50 pounds of pork, 57 pounds of chicken, and 14 pounds of turkey. The average feed calf is sold to market at about 1000 pounds, it will dress out at around 65% meat so it would feed about 10 people per year. So the average American eats 1/10 of a cow. They eat 50 pounds of pork, that works out to about 1/3 pig.  They eat 55 pounds of chicken (around 27 chickens each).  And 14 pounds of turkey comes out about 1 turkey each.

  5. If your a redneck 550 for each. If your a yankee none. Simple as that. Next question please?

  6. I don't know about pork and chicken but I know the US is in 3rd position in beef consumption after Argentina (155 lbs/year/person) and Uruguay.
