  1. there is no #...some just happen to get it.

  2. After spending all of my childhood on a farm, I would say that ALL cows are mad (crazy) . . . .

    But seriously . . . . .

Mad Cow is a diseases of the brain. It caused by eating the brains of another sick animals.  "Mad Cows" are not ANGRY (mad) but CRAZY (mad).  The appear badly drunk, can't walk right, and run into things.

Say What???  Cows eating brains???  Is this like zombie cows??

In the recent past, it was common practive for slaughter houses to dry out and grind up the parts of animals, especially sheep and sick cows, that they didn't use.  The ground-up parts were put into the cow feed.

The ground up parts included brains!

Now, sheep don't seem to be as badly infected by "mad cow" disease, so the brainsfrom sick sheep (and cows) ground up and feed to cows.  But the virus that causes Mad Cow disease was not killed, and it infected the cows.

Since the government made it illegal to use ground up brains in cow food, there are very very few Mad Cow around any more.  Sick cows and sheep are now shot, and the bodies are burned.
