How many crickets should I give my green anole and what size do they need to be?

  1. She's very small, so you need to get very small crickets.  Look at her mouth and figure how big a cricket will fit into it whole.  She can eat crickets smaller than that, but not bigger.

    Lizards' appetites vary with the season.  My approach would be to buy 12 tiny crickets, because I think she will eat fewer than that in one day.  Then, around midday (not too early, not to late) feed her and see how many she will eat.  If she doesn't eat any, she's not hungry.  Try again tomorrow.  

    When she does eat, count how many she eats.  Since she is so young, I would try feeding her again the next day; if she doesn't eat, she's not hungry yet.  So try the next day.  This is how you will find out how much she eats at a meal, and how often she eats.  

    As she grows, she will eat more at one meal, and less often. Also, when Autumn comes, she may start to eat fewer crickets, and perhaps less often.  Lizards eat a lot more in Summer than in Winter, at least in my experience.
