I need to pour about 60 cubic feet... how many 80 pound bags will I need? Or how much can I get out of an 80lb bag?

I read answers from .5 to 1.8 cubic feet per 80lb bag. An accurate answer would be great! ty =)

  1. 80 pound bags are commonly 1/2 or .5 cu ft.  There are other sizes of bags, so pay attention to what you are getting.

60 cubic feet will take around 120 bags.  I would figure on 130, they never seem to work out just right.

With this kind of quantity, you would be much better off to order ready mix.  You would need about 2 1/4 yards.  It will be LESS expensive than buying the bags and save your back a lot of wear.

  2. try this online calculator:

    Hope that helps.

  3. this also depends on the depth your planning, ask the guy that works that department, more than likely,if its a lowes or home depot, he will have acess to a chart or have the info on hand.

  4. I wish to help, but need more info. 30 years contractor. What are you pouring, a patio, driveway, building slab, are you going to tile over or stain, and how deep, how much experience do you have placing concrete, where is job and is it accessible by truck or wheelbarrow,  !!!what is the cost per bag!!!, see front or back of bag and it will give you cubic feet 12in x 12in x 12in= 1cubic foot ,also most bags give you coverage chart 4  6in-4in-3in slabs coverage, need info and I can help, also you can contact me via yahoo mail. 5. What the funk! An 80LB bag of Quikrete yealds .6 cubic foot, just over half of a cubic foot. You'll have some extra, that you can take back, if you buy 120 80LB bags. OKAY, enough talk now get to it!

    Good Luck,  ;-)
