As said above they have become a little obsolete since the City of Paris offers over 400 free wi-fi spots in public places:

Plus there are many more if you include those in private buildings and facilities (in hotels, cafés, restaurants).

However the French yellow pages still list 29 internet "cafés" in Paris:

Cybercafes as such have gone out. But their place has been taken over by phone-shops which provide an internet service (but no coffee). They tend to be in the immigrant areas and specialise in cheap phone calls to distant lands. They are recongisable by being very small, brightly coloured and with posters of phone tariffs to other countries, mainly in North Africa.

But there are also plenty of free hotspots.

Trouble is, there is no directory wothy of the name that lists them. You just have to go around with your laptop or wifi PDA, iphone, PSP or whatever and find them.

Lots of cafes and restaurants have such a service. Sometimes there is a sign, but usually there isn't. Sometimes even the waiters don't know it's there. So just try it and see.

Most of the Macdos and Starbucks have free wifi.

Cybercafés probably disappeared nearly all - they were justified in the years when PC s were still very expensive -

Today about 40.000.000 pc s   and laptops or more in France for a population of about 62.000.000 citizens.

Noticed the same in russian big cities, where already people

acquire their own equipment and cybercafés which you could find in the 2000's already tend to disappear.
