  1. I think if the case is an aggravated D.U.I., 49 percent of it goes to the grand jury. ("Aggravated D.U.I." is a type of DUI when you purposely kill a person (mainly a passenger or passengers or pedestrians) through reckless homicide while you are legally drunk.)

    D.U.I.'s involving vehicular homicide (that is, using a vehicle to purposely kill a person) make it by 68 percent. This is the most serious DUI crime....punishable in some states as much as 15-20 years (and in a few cases, life) in prison.

    If the D.U.I. only involves the driver and no injuries to the other passengers, only 9 percent make it to the grand jury.

    These are only my guesses...


  2. I don't think D.U.I.'s are presented to a Grand Jury, unless there is a traffic fatality involved.
