How many days after cataract surgery on both eyes one can read , watch tv and browse computers?

i had cataract surgeries on both right and left eyes a few weeks back. i am using the drops prescribed by doctor . and how long i have to use sun glasses?

  1. Your eyes will take up to 6 weeks to heal completely if there is no complications. You can probably use your eyes from the day after the surgery with over the counter reading glasses. After 6 weeks you can go and see and optometrist to have your eyes tested and get custom made reading glasses or multifocal/varifocal lenses(depends on your needs) to assist you with near work(your near vision is in 90% of the cases not very good due to the fact that your inplanted lenses cant accomodate(focus)).

    You can carry on wearing sunglasses for the rest of your live, there is a connection between the increase in sunlight (after the 'dirty' old lens was removed and replaced with a 'clean' one) to your retina and macular degeneration.
